A Big Yellow Garden Spider

We saw a big yellow garden spider yesterday.

She was hanging out near the bridge on the pond. Mostly, we see spiders webs at night or early in the morning. She has made her spider web and is out there all day and all night.

A Big Yellow Garden Spider

At first when most people see spiders they get squeamish and want to rush and kill it, but these spiders are very beneficial to us. They eat grasshoppers, flies, fleas, mosquitos, wasps, and aphids. They spend most of their day homesteading on their web catching insects.

Here is a quick video of a big yellow garden spider at work.

If you see a big yellow garden spider out and around on the farm, feel assure she is ridding the farm of offending insects.

See you around the farm!
